We Are the Ones We've Been Waiting For

OK, so how about instead of just talking about books and such, we circulate them amongst each other? I'll start by sending Gizelle the "Creating a life together" book mentioned in the non-profit thread. When she is done, she can send it to another interested party, or keep it. I also have a DVD on Cob/natural building, show-and-tell interview style not a how to, with some mindblowing living/meditation temple spaces shown towards the end. Any one want to "check it out?"

If you have media to share that other than posting here, let everyone know and share around. If it needs to come back to you, you can stipulate that as well. Hey, snail mail is still good for something, right? Just share your address as part of the exchange...

I would like a copy of the NVC book ... not sure who has it (or them) at the moment ...

ps- I am finding the 'Conscious Loving' book to be outstanding! The best book I have ever read so far on relationships (romantic partnerships, or otherwise, principles also equally apply to community relations, in fact the principles are probably essential to success and fulfillment in community relations) I will have more to share about it here when I am finished..

Brian I have the NVC book (hoggin books right?!) ... Give me another two weeks with it and then I'll send it to you. I have your address. I love the idea of sharing these books. I have some that I know people would be interested in so this weekend I'll post what I have (Victoria said she'd be interested in knowing .... I will send them out and make sure I don't have more than two in my possession at a time of the books that are moving around!!) Love, Me

I have thousands of books in PDF format, as far as NVC have the book(s) DVD, audiobooks...
A mixture of those 3 for many other topics.

That is just amazing that NVC never really hit my radar! I personally cannot read a book on a computer screen. I can read snatches of things like articles and emails but in all honesty, my eyes hurt from staring at the screen. I still intend to be through with the copy I have and move it forward to Brian. I'm about a third through it and I need to get a LOT of reading in this year towards intentional community and my own desire to move forward spiritually in my own life. So the deadline is a good way to focus my intentions on completing that reading. The text 'Conscious Loving' sounds good too but since I have one coming my way and i'm releasing one in two weeks I'll wait another two weeks after that to see if I can send something out from my collection .... and see what else is being offered in book format.

Hi Eric, thanks for the offerings! I wonder if we could set up a CC FTP site for such things. It would likely have to be independent of Ning. Are you familiar with setting up FTP sites? If we need to buy a URL or service maybe I can take care of that.

BTW Mel and I are using the Pink Noise treatment more often now. Mel's tinnitus got worse recently, so she is starting to put the therapy in practice via headphones at work...

I am glad the pink noise is coming in handy, I have been meaning to get the protocol sent to me, it came on paper with the CD in OR. If you go to hyperacusis.net (Hyperacusis and Tinnitius Awareness Network) and go to the forums they are very familiar with the protocols, this is the same thing they do with multi thousand dollar generators and white noise, but the volume level for TRT (tinnitius retraining therapy) protocol may be different then general broadband noise therapy, as long as you are not straining to hear it as that can initiate stochastic resonance.

I am utilizing it as well though could be more diligently with headphones, need a better set really. Just make sure you do't overdo it on the volume level, e.g ipods can get up to 115dB or something crazy on full, and 85 at 3/4, so a bit below this point should be the real max, luckily I can re-define a new max on the newer nanos.

I used to have an FTP site long ago, would have to look into how to do that (cost) effectively and efficiently.

Another option, if you have a PDF file or something similar Gizelle, or anyone, is to have a copy shop print out the book and bind it for you, as long as it is a cool place and won't grill you on copyrights, as that situation varies depending on the book and it's better to just not have to deal with it. I do enjoy printed books the most, for readability, though if someone had one of those e-book readers, a hacked version of the one amazon is selling for instance, the kindle, it would be a good substitute. I gave away many of my paper books in OR, unfortunately. Ones I would of kept in hindsight, was at the advice of someone when planning another way of life.

Thanks Eric, keep me posted on what you find out about the FTP site. Our approach with the pink noise will be to run it very quietly when we work or relax, loud enough to focus on if you choose to do so, but quiet enough to forget it.

I also like books - no electricity, very portable in small numbers. I certainly need another purge of my collection soon. My problem is that so many of them are worth keeping for a common house library ;)

I lost my copy of "Ask and It Is Given" by Jerry and Esther Hicks.

Does anyone currently have a copy I may borrow? I am happy to pay for shipping

Brian, I will mail you a copy of mine this Tuesday. You may keep it for as long as you wish. I have not gotten back to it as there are so many other books that are calling me at this time.... (like NVC) ... No need to pay for shipping. I got it

Here are some books that I have, that are ready to be released:
Choosing Happiness - Life & Soul Essentials, Stephanie Dowrick
How Did I Get So Busy? - Valorie Burton
A Witch Alone - A Practical Handbook, Marian Green
Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner - Scott Cunningham
No Death, No Fear - Comforting Wisdom for Life - Thich Nhat Hanh

(the last two would come extremely highly recommended)

Blessed Be,
