The Big Glow is Inside You

I was always hoping that by reading a spiritual book I would be provided the answers to all my prayers; that by simply reading the book I would be transported to some magical place where suffering doesn’t exist. I was always disappointed. There is no magical place! If you are looking for that, you will be disappointed too. Happiness has much more texture than the utopia that I imagined. It is bliss blended with reality. It still has gravity and obstacles, schedules and responsibilities, appointments and occupations. There is simply more freedom while doing these things, as you are less burdened by worry and useless thinking. It is beautiful, but not as beautiful as the fairy tale we so desperately want.
For example: how many of you have a relationship that is exactly like one you would see in a movie? It may be something you long for because you enjoy love stories, but there is a big difference between a twenty year marriage and a two hour movie. Sure, I’ve said some wonderful one-liners to my wife, and she has given me plenty of loving embraces, but the one-liners and loving embraces have expiration dates. Each new day brings new challenges and opportunities. Relationships are ever changing because the people involved are ever changing.
The relationship we have with life is the same; there are always new requirements. There will always be new ways to serve, and if we are expanding like we should, so too is life.
Don’t expect a utopia. Simply commit to feeling the aliveness that you are. Learn from the downs and thrive in the ups. Be open to your evolving truth. It is a joy so real, so filled with texture that any paradise imagined is unjust.

Jason, Beautiful post! The greatest book ever written is our HEART. What keeps our perspective, our vision and our daily living joyful, fresh, and alive is to look at the world with the eyes of a child, and a pure heart. What we have lost in the process of living is our ability to look at the world and nature in awe, our ability to see the miracles which are always happening around us. Children are fully in the present and they live from their hearts always. How do we do that? To begin, we need to keep the pollution to a minimum by not watching TV (the news especially) and being very selective of what we read, I am not saying to avoid reality, I'm saying to look at reality with uncontaminated eyes. Remember that is our perception of reality what makes OUR reality. There are more than one reality happening simultaneously at every given moment. I know this easy to say it than do it. And please do not forget to remind me of the above when I have to talk with the father of mi kids :)
Some of us living on Earth now, have as part of our contract to clear the energy of our environment (working environment, home and city) by being in our hearts and by cheering the ones around us. Joy and Love are very high frequency...

Much Love to you, to all of US, Mother Earth included,

Ginny

I think utopia must be boring ;-) - I prefer life as it is with all aspects and challenges...
